Sawing with a Japanese branch saw

Start with pruning

Pruning with a Japanese pruning saw works no differently than with a normal pruning saw, the only difference is the very smooth result. We are happy to explain what you should pay attention to when sawing.

Start with a notch on the bottom of the branch you want to saw off, this will prevent it from snapping off as you saw. Then place the saw 5 to 10 centimeters next to the notch on the top of the branch (on the side of the trunk). Now saw completely through the branch. Finally, saw off the remaining stump close to the branch ring, this is the annular thickening at the beginning of the branch. The result is a straight cut branch and a clean saw cut.
