Keep your tools in top condition with this Yasunari whetstone 2000-5000.
Use 2000 grit to keep your tools sharp after use. For razor-sharp grinding and polishing of tools, 5000 grit can be used. This often makes the tool sharper than when new.
Finer stones are generally used for polishing various tools.
The grindstone is used in combination with water, which is why the grinding process is also referred to as "honing". The grindings and residues can be easily rinsed off. To prevent gouging, use the grindstone on the entire surface. If desired, the grindstone can be leveled with a leveling stone after some time.
The scope of delivery includes a rubber stand that stabilizes the stone and ensures that it slips less.
For optimum stability, we recommend a bamboo base (9010080) or metal base (9010082).
Special attachments for knives (9010084) and chisels (9010086) are also available to ensure that the correct grinding angle is always maintained.
Yasunari whetstones are available in three grinding grades;
- Coarse stones: These normally have a grit of less than 1000 and are best for repairing very blunt tools and broken edges. The greater the damage, the coarser the grit required.
- Medium stones: These are between grit 1000 and grit 5000. We recommend these for regular maintenance of tools that have lost their sharpness.
- Polishing stone: These stones are equipped with very fine grits from 5000. They sharpen more slowly than coarser stones, but produce an exceptionally sharp edge. Use a polishing stone to refine and polish the edge of your blade.
