The Azumagenji meet the highest quality requirements and are very suitable for the carpenter who prefers to work with the best tools. The plane irons of these planes are forged, or "laminated", layer by layer. The planes bear the name of the master blacksmith "Azumagenji" who made them piece by piece with extreme care and by hand. The special attention during production and the steel used result in an exceptionally high quality. The special "blue paper steel" from Hitachi is ideal as a base for these special chisels. The master smith's machining operations make the steel harder and enable it to be ground even sharper. This benefits the tool life and precision. Not only the plane iron, but also the chipbreaker of this Japanese plane has been carefully forged and machined. Their perfect interaction shows in the final result of your workpiece.
The planing block is handmade from selected white oak wood. The specially sawn wood has a very long life and has been processed very precisely. The method with which the planing block is sawn determines, among other things, the precision with which you can adjust and use the plane as a joiner.
Also available in 60 mm and 65 mm.
The gouges of these Azumagenji planes can be sharpened. Use the sharpening stones 1000 and 3000 or higher for this.
