The Ryobas of the Premium series from Takagi offer first-class results. These saws are made of very high quality tool steel that is also extensively machined. The result is an exceptionally smooth sawing experience, even for Japanese saws.
The teeth of this Takagi Premium Ryoba 210 have been carefully designed and sharpened on two sides. This makes this saw versatile.
Use the side with the trapezoidal serration (17 TPI) for fine cutting or mitre work and precision work. Ideally suited for furniture makers, restoration work, shipbuilding and interior finishing.
The other side has ascending teeth, from 8 to 11 TPI, for cutting in the longitudinal direction of the wood. This toothing method simplifies the start of the cut and cuts more efficiently when sawing.
The saw blade of the Takagi Premium series saws is hollow ground. The thickness of the saw blade is therefore less than the thickness of the cutting surface, even if the teeth have not been set. The saw blade therefore does not get stuck in the wood. In addition, the saw blade is very precisely polished to further reduce friction. This makes the sawing experience incredibly smooth.
The handle of this saw is made of balsa wood that is partially wrapped in bamboo. Balsa wood is a very light type of wood that feels very soft in the hand. It also wicks away moisture better than bamboo handles (with wet hands).
The teeth of this saw can be sharpened with the Japanese saw file 75 mm.
Comes with a plastic teethguard.
