An affordable Japanese saw

Japanese hand saws are sometimes labeled as expensive tools due to their high quality. Of course, it is possible to spend 150 euros on a very special Japanese saw, but this is not at all necessary. Most woodworkers can use a cheaper Japanese saw for their work. We are happy to explain why Japanese saws are actually very affordable.

These cheaper saws have all the unique features of Japanese saws, such as the characteristic steel quality, easy handling and very precise cutting results.

With most saws, it is possible to insert a different saw blade into the handle. The biggest advantage is that other saw blades can be inserted into the handle. It is therefore possible to fit a replacement saw blade (of the same type) or a saw blade for a completely different application in the handle. This turns your coarse beam saw into a fine plastic saw in no time at all.

It is therefore sufficient to only buy a new saw blade after the initial purchase and it is then no longer necessary to buy a complete saw again. This makes Japanese saws even more versatile and affordable.

In addition, the replaceable saw blade makes it possible to replace a saw blade if the saw has been damaged despite the high hardness of the steel. This means that instead of buying a completely new saw, you only need to buy a new saw blade, which is very advantageous.

So what makes the difference between the cheaper and the most expensive saws? The most expensive saws have an even stronger saw blade made of very high-quality carbon steel, which makes them even finer without losing strength. The result is greater precision when sawing, a perfect cut and an even longer service life, which is particularly sought after by furniture makers and artists. These saws require experience and skill.

For those who are not yet familiar with Japanese sawing or have no specialization in woodworking, it is not necessary to consider tools in this price range.
