This Japanese saw set is designed for woodworkers looking for a very smooth finish. The set consists of the most important saws that belong to a basic set: a two-sided Ryoba, an accurate Dozuki-fine saw and a strong Kataba saw. Each of these traditionally made Japanese saws has (very) fine teeth that can be used to produce very smooth saw cuts. Excellent for making wood joints and saw cuts that come into view.
The set consists of:
- Traditional Kataba 250 100250 (19 TPI)
A traditional Kataba with a 250 mm saw blade and fine teeth of 19 TPI (teeth per inch). Very suitable for cutting and mitering work and for general fine sawing work. This fine Kataba Japanese saw achieves its best performance as a parquet, laminate, baseboard or picture frame saw. This Kataba Japanese saw is particularly appreciated for furniture making and fine woodwork because of its smooth and clean cuts. This Kataba can also be used as a hobby and fine saw. The hardened saw blades have induction-hardened and polished teeth ground on three sides from 68 to 71 HRC (Hardeness Rockwell Cone) and guarantee a very long service life. The saw blades cannot be sharpened, but a replacement saw blade can be easily changed.
- Takagi Shark Saw Ryoba 210 mm 108157 (16/17 TPI)
A traditional Ryoba with very good sawing properties and a wide range of applications. Made from high-quality Hi-Flex carbon steel and suitable for all common sawing tasks. Use this Japanese saw for deep cuts in softwood and hardwood. This Japanese saw is particularly suitable for woodworkers who have little or no experience with traditional Ryoba. The 210 mm saw blade has trapezoidal teeth (17 TPI) ground on three sides on the cross-cutting side. The longitudinal cutting side also has trapezoidal teeth ground on three sides (16 TPI) so that it can also be used for cutting to length. The saw blades of this Ryoba Gisuke are hardened, but the teeth can be resharpened with the 75 mm Japanese saw file.
- Dozuki with back reinforcement 210 mm 10DN210 (22 TPI)
A traditional Japanese fine saw type Dozuki. Use this saw for perfectly fitting wood joints and an extremely clean result. Use this Japanese saw for example as a parquet saw or for picture frames, but also for building musical instruments. This Dozuki Japanese saw is equipped with a three-sided ground trapezoidal toothing (22 TPI). The very fine (hollow ground) saw blade makes cuts extremely clean cuts with a thickness of only 0.30 mm. The back reinforcement also provides additional stability when sawing. The saw blades are hardened, but the teeth can be ground.
All saws are supplied with a plastic tooth guard.
